Goldfus in Courland, Latvia
Up till now, I hadn't found any Goldfus (for Goldfoot) in any place except Lithuania. Other researchers had steered me there, having found their Goldfoot (fus) ancestors in Telsiai.
Through the familyfinder program offered through FamilyTreeDNA in Texas, I have found 2 matches saying that they had ancestors in Courland, Latvia. I finally checked it out at jewishgen.org and have found Goldfus!
Deaths
1. Rosha Goldfus from Libava died on October 3, 1880 (10 Heshvan) at the age of 10 months from convulsions. Libava, Grobin, Courland, Latvia.
2. Borukh Goldfus, son of Movsha, died in Ritov on January 15, 1893 (10 Shevat) , from being an old man with pneumonia. In Libava, Grobin, Courland, Latvia
3. Freida Goldfus, daughter of Gershon, died March 19, 1896 (17 Nisan) from teeth disease 11/2 may mean age 11 years 2 months? in Tukkum, Tukkum, Courland, Latvia.
